3 And therefore he brought it not home to himself, that is, into the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gethite.

Blessed be the Lord the God of Israel, who hath accomplished in deed that which he spoke to David my father, saying:

Go, and speak to David my servant: Thus saith the Lord: Thou shalt not build me a house to dwell in.


4 Not giving heed to Jewish fables and commandments of men, who turn themselves away from the truth.


1 A faithful saying: for if we be dead with him, we shall live also with him.


They therefore being brought on their way by the church, passed through Phenice, and Samaria, relating the conversion of the Gentiles; and they caused great joy to all the brethren.


9 And the word of the Lord came to Jeremias, saying:


The Lord God hath opened my ear, and I do not resist: I have not gone back.


Praise ye the Lord in his holy places: praise ye him in the firmament of his power.


I did not set before my eyes any unjust thing: I hated the workers of iniquities.


To day if you shall hear his voice, harden not your hearts:


Thy wrath is strong over me: and all thy waves thou hast brought in upon me.

And over this thing was Eliasib the priest, who was set over the treasury of the house of our God, and was near akin to Tobias.


And on that day they read in the book of Moses in the hearing of the people: and therein was found written, that the Ammonites and the Moabites should not come in to the church of God for ever:


7 Because a great number was not sanctified: and therefore the Levites immolated the phase for them that came not in time to be sanctified to the Lord.


7 And they appointed Levites, Hemam the son of Joel, and of his brethren Asaph the son of Barachias: and of the sons of Merari, their brethren: Ethan the son of Casaia.


3 And they came into Mara, and they could not drink the waters of Mara, because they were bitter: whereupon he gave a name also agreeable to the place, calling it Mara, that is, bitterness.


And the king turned his face, and blessed all the multitude of Israel (for all the multitude stood attentive) and he said:


1 And Solomon finished the house of the Lord, and the king's house, and all that he had designed in his heart to do, in the house of the Lord, and in his own house, and he prospered.


2 And after them went Osaias, and half of the princes of Juda,


He shall understand a parable, and the interpretation, the words of the wise, and their mysterious sayings.


3 You that rejoice in a thing of nought: you that say: Have we not taken unto us horns by our own strength?


1 Joah his son, Addo his son, Zara his son, Jethrai his son.


0 Praise ye his holy name: let the heart I of them rejoice, that seek the Lord.


4 And when Juda came to the watch tower, that looketh toward the desert, they saw afar off all the country, for a great space, full of dead bodies, and that no one was left that could escape death.


0 For I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
