0 And the kingdom of Josaphat was quiet, and God gave him peace round about.


Now a certain woman of the wives of the prophets cried to Eliseus, saying: Thy servant my husband is dead, and thou knowest that thy servant was one that feared God, and behold the creditor is come to take away my two sons to serve him.


3 And they took their bones and buried them in the wood of Jabes: and fasted seven days.


And the men of Azotus seeing this kind of plague, said: The ark of the God of Israel shall not stay with us: for his hand is heavy upon us, and upon Dagon our god.


2 All the valiant men of them arose, and took the bodies of Saul and of his sons, and brought them to Jabes, and buried their bones under the oak that was in Jabes, and they fasted seven days.


4 And trusted not is the Lord: therefore he slew him, and transferred his kingdom to David the son of Isai.
