And I heard every creature in heaven, on the earth, under the earth, on the ocean and everything in them, saying [See Note at 4:8], “May there be praise and honor and splendor and power forever and ever, to God who sits on His throne and to the Lamb.”


[Note: The following are rhetorical questions raised from their reading of the Old Testament]. For who has known [what goes on in] the Lord’s mind? Or, who has been His advisor?


[This was] so that, in [honor of] the name of Jesus, everyone’s knee in heaven, on earth and under the earth [i.e., all rational creatures] should bow [i.e., before God],


And I cried bitterly because no one was found who deserved to open the book or to look inside of it.
