29 Suddenly they shouted out, “What do you want with us, you Son of God? Have you come here to torture us before it is time to?” [i.e., before our punishment is due. See II Pet. 2:4; Jude 6].

“What business do we have with you, Jesus from Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are; [you are] God’s Holy One.”


“Ha! What business do we have with you, Jesus from Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are; [you are] God’s Holy One.”


You believe that there is [only] one God; that is good! Even the demons believe [that], and they shudder [with fear at the thought].


And shouting with a loud voice, he said, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, in God’s name, do not torture me.”


And when he saw Jesus, he fell at His feet [i.e., in worship. See Mark 5:6] and shouted out with a loud voice saying, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Highest God? I beg you, do not torture me.”


For if God did not spare sinning angels, but cast them in chains into deep, dark dungeons to await judgment;


The tempter [i.e., the devil] came and said to Him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to turn into bread.”


So, Jesus said to her, “[My dear] woman, what do you want me to do [about it]? My time [i.e., to be revealed to people as the Messiah] has not yet come.”


And evil spirits also came out of many people, shouting [at Him], “You are the Son of God.” And Jesus spoke sternly to them and would not allow them to speak [anymore] because they knew He was the Christ [Note: Jesus would not accept the endorsement of these Satanic spirits].


And angels, who did not remain within [the bounds of] their proper authority, but left their own realm, God has kept in perpetual bondage, under [thick] darkness, awaiting judgment on the Great Day [when they will be punished].


She followed Paul and us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Supreme God and they are proclaiming to you the way to be saved.”


And whenever they saw Him, [people possessed by] evil spirits fell to the ground in front of Him, shouting, “You are the Son of God.”


Now a large herd of [wild] hogs [i.e., about 2000 of them. See Mark 5:13] was grazing some distance away from them.
