'It is too bad for you hypocritical experts in the Law of Moses and [you] Pharisees! For you construct burial sites for the prophets and decorate the tombs of people who were righteous.


[But by saying this] you are witnesses [against] yourselves, that you are the sons of those who murdered the prophets [i.e., indicating your approval of their actions].


Look at the physical nation of Israel; do not their people [i.e., the priests] who eat the [animal] sacrifices have fellowship [with God] in the Altar [service]?


And our hope for you is firm, for we know that just as you share our sufferings, so you will also [share] our comfort.
