This is what they wrote [in the letter]: “[This is] from your brothers, the apostles and elders [of the Jerusalem church]: Greetings to [our] Gentile brothers in Antioch, Syria and Cilicia.


But Paul replied, “I am not crazy, Your Excellency Festus; I am [just] speaking a message of truth and sound reason.


we welcome all such efforts in each district with full gratitude.


I have thoroughly investigated the entire series of events [myself], I felt it would be good for me also to write you an orderly account of them.


because I hope to see you soon, and [then] we can speak face to face.


[This letter is from] James, a slave of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, [who sends] greetings to the twelve tribes which are scattered throughout the world. [Note: This refers to Christians, probably of Jewish descent].


And he [also] requested that they furnish animals for Paul to ride so he could be brought safely to Felix, the governor.


The commander then wrote a letter like this:


When they came to Caesarea and delivered the letter to the governor, they presented Paul before him.
