Give them according to their deeds, And according to the wickedness of their endeavours: Give them after the work of their hands; Render to them their desert.


For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;


But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?


Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.


According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.


For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, And the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.


To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; Their foot shall slide in due time: For the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things that shall come upon them make haste.


But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.


Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.


The snare is laid for him in the ground, And a trap for him in the way.
