You must celebrate this day as a religious festival to remind you of what I, the Lord, have done. Celebrate it for all time to come.”


The Lord does not let us forget his wonderful actions; he is kind and merciful.


This was a warning to the Israelites that no one who was not a descendant of Aaron should come to the altar to burn incense for the Lord. Otherwise he would be destroyed like Korah and his men. All this was done as the Lord had commanded Eleazar through Moses.


Put them on the shoulder straps of the ephod to represent the twelve tribes of Israel. In this way Aaron will carry their names on his shoulders, so that I, the Lord, will always remember my people.
