Psalm 44:20

There shall be no strange god among you; you shall not bow down to a foreign god.


“If you prepare your heart, you will stretch out your hands toward him.


Nobles shall come from Egypt; Cush shall hasten to stretch out her hands to God.


You shall not go after other gods, the gods of the peoples who are around you—


They forgot his works and the wonders that he had shown them.


All this has come upon us, though we have not forgotten you, and we have not been false to your covenant.


Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the assembly of Israel and spread out his hands toward heaven,


Moses said to him, “As soon as I have gone out of the city, I will stretch out my hands to the Lord. The thunder will cease, and there will be no more hail, so that you may know that the earth is the Lord’s.


But the king shall rejoice in God; all who swear by him shall exult, for the mouths of liars will be stopped.
