2 And Gilead’s wife also bore him sons. And when his wife’s sons grew up, they drove Jephthah out and said to him, “You shall not have an inheritance in our father’s house, for you are the son of another woman.”

So you will be delivered from the forbidden woman, from the adulteress with her smooth words,


“No one born of a forbidden union may enter the assembly of the Lord. Even to the tenth generation, none of his descendants may enter the assembly of the Lord.


Now there was a famine in the land. So Abram went down to Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine was severe in the land.


Why should you be intoxicated, my son, with a forbidden woman and embrace the bosom of an adulteress?


For the lips of a forbidden woman drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil,


But what does the Scripture say? “Cast out the slave woman and her son, for the son of the slave woman shall not inherit with the son of the free woman.”


Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty warrior, but he was the son of a prostitute. Gilead was the father of Jephthah.


Then Jephthah fled from his brothers and lived in the land of Tob, and worthless fellows collected around Jephthah and went out with him.


So she said to Abraham, “Cast out this slave woman with her son, for the son of this slave woman shall not be heir with my son Isaac.”
