Then Israel said to Joseph, “Behold, I am about to die, but God will be with you and will bring you again to the land of your fathers.


To give a human example, brothers: even with a man-made covenant, no one annuls it or adds to it once it has been ratified.


Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.


For where a will is involved, the death of the one who made it must be established.


Therefore not even the first covenant was inaugurated without blood.
