You and the people with you will certainly wear yourselves out, for the thing is too heavy for you. You are not able to do it alone.


And the Lord said to Samuel, “Obey their voice and make them a king.” Samuel then said to the men of Israel, “Go every man to his city.”


But the men said, “You shall not go out. For if we flee, they will not care about us. If half of us die, they will not care about us. But you are worth ten thousand of us. Therefore it is better that you send us help from the city.”


And the Lord went his way, when he had finished speaking to Abraham, and Abraham returned to his place.


I went up because of a revelation and set before them (though privately before those who seemed influential) the gospel that I proclaim among the Gentiles, in order to make sure I was not running or had not run in vain.

And let them judge the people at all times. Every great matter they shall bring to you, but any small matter they shall decide themselves. So it will be easier for you, and they will bear the burden with you.


So Moses listened to the voice of his father-in-law and did all that he had said.
