19 And they took him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, “May we know what this new teaching is that you are presenting?

And they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.”


So Paul, standing in the midst of the Areopagus, said: “Men of Athens, I perceive that in every way you are very religious.


So Agrippa said to Paul, “You have permission to speak for yourself.” Then Paul stretched out his hand and made his defense:


Then Agrippa said to Festus, “I would like to hear the man myself.” “Tomorrow,” said he, “you will hear him.”


After some days Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish, and he sent for Paul and heard him speak about faith in Christ Jesus.


For you bring some strange things to our ears. We wish to know therefore what these things mean.”


A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.


and you will be dragged before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them and the Gentiles.


But some men joined him and believed, among whom also were Dionysius the Areopagite and a woman named Damaris and others with them.


The tribune took him by the hand, and going aside asked him privately, “What is it that you have to tell me?”


The watchman says: “Morning comes, and also the night. If you will inquire, inquire; come back again.”
