They did not destroy the peoples, as the Lord commanded them,


Now when the people of Israel grew strong, they put the Canaanites to forced labor, but did not utterly drive them out.


But of the people of Israel Solomon made no slaves for his work; they were soldiers, and his officers, the commanders of his chariots, and his horsemen.


At the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the Lord and the king’s house,


And we will cut whatever timber you need from Lebanon and bring it to you in rafts by sea to Joppa, so that you may take it up to Jerusalem.”
