I am the Lord; that is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to carved idols.


For Pharaoh will say of the people of Israel, ‘They are wandering in the land; the wilderness has shut them in.’


But Pharaoh said, “Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice and let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, and moreover, I will not let Israel go.”


And he wrote letters to cast contempt on the Lord, the God of Israel, and to speak against him, saying, “Like the gods of the nations of the lands who have not delivered their people from my hands, so the God of Hezekiah will not deliver his people from my hand.”


Is not Calno like Carchemish? Is not Hamath like Arpad? Is not Samaria like Damascus?


As my hand has reached to the kingdoms of the idols, whose carved images were greater than those of Jerusalem and Samaria,
