Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.


Then the king said to the wise men who knew the times (for this was the king’s procedure toward all who were versed in law and judgment,


and he will be the stability of your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is Zion’s treasure.


And in the morning, ‘It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.


Wisdom gives strength to the wise man more than ten rulers who are in a city.


The wisdom of the prudent is to discern his way, but the folly of fools is deceiving.


A wise man is full of strength, and a man of knowledge enhances his might,


“Issachar is a strong donkey, crouching between the sheepfolds.


The voice of the Lord cries to the city— and it is sound wisdom to fear your name: “Hear of the rod and of him who appointed it!


Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good.


Of the half-tribe of Manasseh 18,000, who were expressly named to come and make David king.


A firstborn bull—he has majesty, and his horns are the horns of a wild ox; with them he shall gore the peoples, all of them, to the ends of the earth; they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.”


And along with them, by their generations, according to their fathers’ houses, were units of the army for war, 36,000, for they had many wives and sons.
