Say to the fainthearted: Take courage, and fear not. Behold, your God will bring the revenge of recompense. God himself will come and will save you.


And the word of the Lord came a second time to Aggeus in the four and twentieth day of the month, saying:


For then thou shalt be able to prosper, if thou keep the commandments and judgments, which the Lord commanded Moses to teach Israel. Take courage and act manfully: fear not, nor be dismayed.


Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace which is in Christ Jesus:


Finally, brethren, be strengthened in the Lord, and in the might of his power.


And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying:


And it shall come to pass, that as you were a curse among the Gentiles, O house of Juda, and house of Israel: so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing: fear not, let your hands be strengthened.


Then Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, and Jesus the son of Josedec the high priest, and all the remnant of the people hearkened to the voice of the Lord their God, and to the words of Aggeus the prophet, as the Lord their God sent him to them: and the people feared before the Lord.


In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came by the hand of Aggeus the prophet, to Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, governor of Juda, and to Jesus the son of Josedec the high priest, saying:


And David said to Solomon his son: Act like a man, and take courage, and do. Fear not, and be not dismayed: for the Lord my God will be with thee, and will not leave thee, nor forsake thee, till thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.


Let not the book of this law depart from thy mouth: but thou shalt meditate on it day and night, that thou mayst observe and do all things that are written in it. Then shalt thou direct thy way, and understand it.


Take courage, and be strong: for thou shalt divide by lot to this people the land, for which I swore to their fathers, that I would deliver it to them.


And the ancients of the Jews built, and prospered according to the prophecy of Aggeus the prophet, and of Zacharias the son of Addo. And they built and finished, by the commandment of the God of Israel, and by the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes kings of the Persians.


I struck you with a blasting wind, and all the works of your hand with the mildew and with hail, yet there was none among you that returned to me, saith the Lord.


Do you therefore take courage, and let not your hands he weakened: for there shall be a reward for your work.


Strengthen ye the feeble hands, and confirm the weak knees.
