Save me, O Lord, for there is now no saint: truths are decayed from among the children of men.


When the chief priests, therefore, and the servants, had seen him, they cried out, saying: Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith to them: Take him you, and crucify him: for I find no cause in him.


Thou hast cursed his sceptres, the head of his warriors, them that came out as a whirlwind to scatter me. Their joy was like that of him that devoureth the poor man in secret.


Thou who preparest the mountains by thy strength, being girded with power:


And our enemies said: Let them not know, nor understand, till we come in the midst of them, and kill them, and cause the work to cease.


And David said to his servants, that were with him in Jerusalem: Arise and let us flee; for we shall not escape else from the face of Absalom. Make haste to go out, lest he come and overtake us, and bring ruin upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword.


And Saul endeavoured to nail David to the wall with his spear. And David slipt away out of the presence of Saul: and the spear missed him, and was fastened in the wall. And David fled and escaped that night.


And threw it, thinking to nail David to the wall: and David stept aside out of his presence twice.


Their madness is according to the likeness of a serpent: like the deaf asp that stoppeth her ears:
