Take heed diligently lest thou forget the Lord, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and shalt serve him only: and thou shalt swear by his name.


Unto the end, for the morning protection, a psalm for David.


In which he that is blessed upon the earth shall be blessed in God, Amen; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by God, Amen: because the former distresses are forgotten and because they are hid from my eyes.


I have sworn by myself: the word of justice shall go out of my mouth and shall not return:


Now we know, that what things soever the law speaketh, it speaketh to them that are in the law; that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may be made subject to God.


For God making promise to Abraham, because he had no one greater by whom he might swear, swore by himself,


And them that worship the host of heaven upon the tops of houses, and them that adore, and swear by the Lord, and swear by Melchom.


In that day there shall be five cities in the land of Egypt, speaking the language of Chanaan, and swearing by the Lord of hosts. One shall be called the city of the sun.


And to the needy there shall he hope: but iniquity shall draw in her mouth.


For who, when he hath found his enemy, will let him go well away? But the Lord reward thee for this good turn, for what thou hast done to me this day.


Fear not. For the hand of my father Saul shall not find thee: and thou shalt reign over Israel: and I shall be next to thee. Yea, and my father knoweth this.


But I am appointed king by him over Sion his holy mountain, preaching his commandment.


Therefore, deliver up their children to famine and bring them into the hands of the sword. Let their wives be bereaved of children and widows: and let their husbands be slain by death. Let their young men be stabbed with the sword in battle.
