9 He that is inclined to mercy shall be blessed: for of his bread he hath given to the poor. He that maketh presents shall purchase victory and honour: but he carrieth away the souls of the receivers.

He that hath mercy on the poor, lendeth to the Lord: and he will repay him.


For God is not unjust, that he should forget your work, and the love which you have shewn in his name, you who have ministered, and do minister to the saints.


Using hospitality one towards another, without murmuring,


I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring you ought to support the weak, and to remember the word of the Lord Jesus, how he said: It is a more blessed thing to give, rather than to receive.


And do not forget to do good, and to impart; for by such sacrifices God's favour is obtained.


But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, and the blind;


But the prince will devise such things as are worthy of a prince: and he shall stand above the rulers.


He that stoppeth his ear against the cry of the poor, shall also cry himself and shall not be heard.


Who maketh a barren woman to dwell in a house, the joyful mother of children.


The soul which blesseth, shall be made fat: and he that inebriateth, shall be inebriated also himself.


Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.


Or, is it not lawful for me to do what I will? is thy eye evil, because I am good?


The tender and delicate woman, that could not go upon the ground, nor set down her foot for over-much niceness and tenderness, will envy her husband who lieth in her bosom, the flesh of her son, and of her daughter,


She hath opened her hand to the needy, and stretched out her hands to the poor.


A merciful man doth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel casteth off even his own kindred.


Well doth he rise early who seeketh good things; but he that seeketh after evil things shall be oppressed by them.


He that despiseth his neighbour, sinneth: but he that sheweth mercy to the poor, shall be blessed. He that believeth in the Lord, loveth mercy.


He that stealeth any thing from his father, or from his mother: and saith, This is no sin, is the partner of a murderer.


He that giveth to the poor, shall not want: he that despiseth his entreaty, shall suffer indigence.
