Better is the poor man walking in his simplicity, than the rich in crooked ways.


For what doth it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul? Or what exchange shall a man give for his soul?


Better is a little with justice, than great revenues with iniquity.


A needy man is merciful: and better is the poor than the lying man.


The just that walketh in his simplicity, shall leave behind him blessed children.


Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, than great treasures without content,


He that walketh in the right way, and feareth God, is despised by him that goeth by an infamous way.


For your hands are defiled with blood and your fingers with iniquity: your lips have spoken lies and your tongue uttereth iniquity.


He that neglecteth a loss for the sake of a friend, is just: but the way of the wicked shall deceive them.


Set me, O Lord, a law in thy way, and guide me in the right path, because of my enemies.


Let not my lord the king, I pray, regard this naughty man Nabal: for according to his name, he is a fool, and folly is with him. But I thy handmaid did not see thy servants, my lord, whom thou sentest.


Wherefore consider, and think what thou hast to do: for evil is determined against thy husband, and against thy house. And he is a son of Belial, so that no man can speak to him.


Remove from thee a froward mouth, and let detracting lips be far from thee.
