Proverbs 17:17

A man amiable in society, shall be more friendly than a brother.


And Jonathan swore again to David, because he loved him: for he loved him as his own soul.


The brethren of the poor man hate him: moreover also his friends have departed far from him. He that followeth after words only, shall have nothing.


And David and Jonathan made a covenant: for he loved him as his own soul.


For both he that sanctifieth, and they who are sanctified, are all of one. For which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying:


She answered: Be not against me to desire that I should leave thee and depart. For whithersoever thou shalt go, I will go: and where thou shalt dwell, I also will dwell. Thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God.


I grieve for thee, my brother Jonathan: exceeding beautiful, and amiable to me above the love of women. As the mother loveth her only son, so did I love thee.


And Jonathan the son of Saul arose, and went to David into the wood, and strengthened his hands in God. And he said to him:


And Jonathan told David, saying: Saul my father seeketh to kill thee. Wherefore look to thyself, I beseech thee, in the morning; and thou shalt abide in a secret place and shalt be hid.


And Ethai answered the king, saying: As the Lord liveth, and as my lord the king liveth: in what place soever thou shalt be, my lord, O king, either in death, or in life, there will thy servant be.


And I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where thou art. And I will speak of thee to my father; and whatsoever I shall see, I will tell thee.


A perverse man stirreth up quarrels: and one full of words separateth princes.


A foolish son is the grief of his father: and a wrangling wife is like a roof continually dropping through.
