He that is patient, is governed with much wisdom: but he that is impatient, exalteth his folly.


A passionate man provoketh quarrels: and he that is easily stirred up to wrath, shall be more prone to sin.


You know, my dearest brethren. And let every man be swift to hear, but slow to speak, and slow to anger.


Better is the end of a speech than the beginning. Better is the patient man than the presumptuous.


A passionate man stirreth up strifes: he that is patient appeaseth those that are stirred up.


Be not a friend to an angry man, and do not walk with a furious man:


The patient man is better than the valiant: and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh cities.


The vessels of the deceitful are most wicked: for he hath framed devices to destroy the meek with lying words, when the poor man speaketh judgment.


A fool immediately sheweth his anger: but he that dissembleth injuries is wise.


He that is good, shall draw grace from the Lord: but he that trusteth in his own devices doth wickedly.


A heart that deviseth wicked plots, feet that are swift to run into mischief,


Are not the Abana, and the Pharphar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel, that I may wash in them, and be made clean? So, as he turned and was going away with indignation,


A wise man feareth and declineth from evil: the fool leapeth over and is confident.


The childish shall possess folly, and the prudent, shall look for knowledge.


It is an honour for a man to separate himself from quarrels: but all fools are meddling with reproaches.
