Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast and unmoveable; always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.


I speak as to wise men: judge ye yourselves what I say.


THE kingdom of heaven is like to an householder, who went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.


Even as a man who going into a far country, left his house; and gave authority to his servants over every work, and commanded the porter to watch.


Or those eighteen upon whom the tower fell in Siloe, and slew them: think you, that they also were debtors above all the men that dwelt in Jerusalem?


Hear ye another parable. There was a man an householder, who planted a vineyard, and made a hedge round about it, and dug in it a press, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen; and went into a strange country.


And he said: Of strangers. Jesus said to him: Then the children are free.


Tell us therefore what dost thou think, is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?


But he answered him: I will not go with thee, but I will return to my country, wherein I was born.


And answering Jesus, they said: We know not. He also said to them: Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.


And he answering, said: I will not. But afterwards, being moved with repentance, he went.
