Of whom Nadab and Abiu died, when they had offered the strange fire before the Lord.


And taking the censer, which he hath filled with the burning coals of the altar, and taking up with his hand the compounded perfume for incense, he shall go in within the veil into the holy place:


What I command thee, that only do thou to the Lord: neither add any thing, nor diminish.


Moses said to Aaron: Take the censer, and putting fire in it from the altar, put incense upon it: and go quickly to the people to pray for them. For already wrath is gone out from the Lord, and the plague rageth.


And he said to Moses: Come up to the Lord, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abiu, and seventy of the ancients of Israel And you shall adore afar off.


And Aaron took to wife Elizabeth the daughter of Aminadab, sister of Nahason, who bore him Nadab, and Abiu, and Eleazar, and Ithamar.


I cried to the Lord with my voice: with my voice I made supplication to the Lord.


Let them keep my precepts, that they may not fall into sin, and die in the sanctuary, when they shall have defiled it. I am the Lord who sanctify them.


Take unto thee also Aaron thy brother with his sons, from among the children of Israel, that they may minister to me in the priest's office: Aaron, Nadab, and Abiu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.


Then Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abiu, and seventy of the ancients of Israel went up.


And the Lord spoke to Moses, after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they were slain upon their offering strange fire:


And, behold, a fire, coming forth from the Lord, devoured the holocaust, and the fat that was upon the altar: which when the multitude saw, they praised the Lord, falling on their faces.


And thou shalt make for the uses thereof pans to receive the ashes, and tongs and fleshhooks, and firepans: all its vessels thou shalt make of brass.


Having a golden censer, and the ark of the testament covered about on every part with gold, in which was a golden pot that had manna, and the rod of Aaron, that had blossomed, and the tables of the testament.


Then all the men that knew that their wives sacrificed to other gods, and all the women of whom there stood by a great multitude, and all the people of them that dwelt in the land of Egypt in Phatures, answered Jeremias, saying:


In that you provoke me to wrath with the works of your hands, by sacrificing to other gods in the land of Egypt, into which you are come to dwell there: and that you should perish and be a curse and a reproach to all the nations of the earth?


And they have built the high places of Baal which are in the valley of the son of Ennom, to consecrate their sons and their daughters to Moloch: which I commanded them not, neither entered it into my heart that they should do this abomination and cause Juda to sin.


And they have built the high places of Baalim, to burn their children with fire for a holocaust to Baalim: which I did not command, nor speak of, neither did it once come into my mind.


And they have built the high places of Topeth, which is in the valley of the son of Ennom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire: which I commanded not nor thought on in my heart.


So as to go and serve strange gods, and adore them, the sun and the moon, and all the host of heaven, which I have not commanded:


You shall not add to the word that I speak to you: neither shall you take away from it. Keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.


And the altar of holocaust of the entry of the testimony, offering the holocaust, and the sacrifices upon it, as the Lord had commanded.


And for the uses thereof he prepared divers vessels of brass: cauldrons, tongs, fleshhooks, pothooks, and firepans.


He compounded also the oil for the ointment of sanctification, and incense of the purest spices, according to the work of a perfumer.


The oil of unction, and the incense of spices in the sanctuary. All things which I have commanded thee, shall they make.


Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the holocaust, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.


We will go three days' journey into the wilderness: and we will sacrifice to the Lord our God, as he hath commanded us.


Destroy not the people of Caath from the midst of the Levites.
