15 But if it seem evil to you to serve the Lord, you have your choice: choose this day that which pleaseth you, whom you would rather serve, whether the gods which your fathers served in Mesopotamia, or the gods of the Amorrhites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.

And Elias coming to all the people said: How long do you halt between two sides? If the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people did not answer him a word.


Lest perhaps there should be among you a man or a woman, a family or a tribe, whose heart is turned away this day from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of those nations: and there should be among you a root bringing forth gall and bitterness.


And as for you, O house of Israel: thus saith the Lord God: Walk ye every one after your idols and serve them. But if in this also you hear me not, but defile my holy name any more with your gifts and with your idols;


Who, when he was come, and had seen the grace of God, rejoiced: and he exhorted them all with purpose of heart to continue in the Lord.

And the people answered, and said: God forbid we should leave the Lord, and serve strange gods.


For all people will walk every one in the name of his god: but we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever.


Thou shalt not follow the multitude to do evil: neither shalt thou yield in judgment, to the opinion of the most part, to stray from the truth.


And that other stones be laid in the place of them that were taken away, and the house be plastered with other mortar.
