Which when Jesus had heard, he said to him: Yet one thing is wanting to thee: sell all whatever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.


Sell what you possess and give alms. Make to yourselves bags which grow not old, a treasure in heaven which faileth not: where no thief approacheth, nor moth corrupteth.


Philip answered him: Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one may take a little.


And why seest thou the mote in thy brother's eye: but the beam that is in thy own eye thou considerest not?


And having agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.


Saying: When will the month be over, and we shall sell our wares: and the sabbath, and we shall open the corn: that we may lessen the measure, and increase the sicle, and may convey in deceitful balances,


And he said: You are idle, and therefore you say: Let us go and sacrifice to the Lord.


And you shall lay upon them the task of bricks, which they did before, neither shall you diminish any thing thereof: For they are idle, and therefore they cry, saying: Let us go and sacrifice to our God.


But when that servant was gone out, he found one of his fellow servants that owed him an hundred pence: and laying hold of him, throttled him, saying: Pay what thou owest.


Then one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, he that was about to betray him, said:


Now he said this, not because he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and having the purse, carried the things that were put therein.


For some thought, because Judas had the purse, that Jesus had said to him: Buy those things which we have need of for the festival day: or that he should give something to the poor.


But we, remembering the salt that we have eaten in the palace, and because we count it a crime to see the king wronged, have therefore sent and certified the king,
