[I put it from Myself.] I am authorized and have power to lay it down (to resign it) and I am authorized and have power to take it back again. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour: that, through the grace of God, he might taste death for all.


Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and might cleanse to himself a people acceptable, a pursuer of good works.


Therefore doth the Father love me: because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.


But that the world may know, that I love the Father: and as the Father hath given me commandment, so do I: Arise, let us go hence.


Because I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me.


If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; as I also have kept my Father's commandments, and do abide in his love.


I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd giveth his life for his sheep.


But the author of life you killed, whom God hath raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.


Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the sorrows of hell, as it was impossible that he should be holden by it.


I cannot of myself do any thing. As I hear, so I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of him that sent me.


This Jesus hath God raised again, whereof all we are witnesses.


Jesus answered: Thou shouldst not have any power against me, unless it were given thee from above. Therefore, he that hath delivered me to thee, hath the greater sin.


As the Father knoweth me, and I know the Father: and I lay down my life for my sheep.


For as the Father hath life in himself, so he hath given the Son also to have life in himself:
