Prepare yourselves against Babylon round about, all you that bend the bow. Fight against her, spare not arrows: because she hath sinned against the Lord.


Harness the horses, and get up, ye horsemen. Stand forth with helmets, furbish the spears, put on coats of mail.


Go up against the land of the rulers and punish the inhabitants thereof, waste and destroy all behind them, saith the Lord: and do according to all that I have commanded thee.


For judgment without mercy to him that hath not done mercy. And mercy exalteth itself above judgment.


Destroy all her valiant men, let them go down to the slaughter. Woe to them, for their day is come, the time of their visitation.


For death is come up through our windows: it is entered into our houses, to destroy the children from without, the young men from the streets.


Without, the sword shall lay them waste, and terror within: both the young man and the virgin, the sucking child with the man in years.


If Babylon should mount up to heaven and establish her strength on high: from me there should come spoilers upon her, saith the Lord.
