Where are the gods, whom thou hast made thee? Let them arise and deliver thee in the time of thy affliction: for according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Juda.


Send to all them of the captivity, saying: Thus saith the Lord to Semeias the Nehelamite: Behold, Semeias hath prophesied to you and I sent him not, and hath caused you to trust in a lie:


They say to them that blaspheme me: The Lord hath said, You shall have peace. And to every one that walketh in the perverseness of his own heart they have said: No evil shall come to you.


And they healed the breach of the daughter of my people disgracefully, saying, Peace, Peace: when there was no peace.

Nun. Thy prophets have seen false and foolish things for thee: and they have not laid open thy iniquity, to excite thee to penance: but they have seen for thee false revelations and banishments.


Of whose victims they ate the fat, and drank the wine of their drink-offerings. Let them arise and help you, and protect you in your distress.


Son of man, prophesy thou against the prophets of Israel that prophesy. And thou shalt say to them that prophesy out of their own heart: Hear ye the word of the Lord.


They see vain things, and they foretell lies, saying: The Lord saith: whereas the Lord hath not sent them. And they have persisted to confirm what they have said.
