Jeremiah 17:23
24 পৰস্পৰ সংযোগসমূহ

The man that with a stiff neck despiseth him that reproveth him, shall suddenly be destroyed: and health shall not follow him.

Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring in upon this city, and upon all the cities thereof all the evils that I have spoken against it: because they have hardened their necks, and they might not hear my words.

They are returned to the former iniquities of their fathers who refused to hear my words: so these likewise have gone after strange gods, to serve them. The house of Israel and the house of Juda have made void my covenant which I made with their fathers.

You stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do you also.

I said: Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive correction: and her dwelling shall not perish, for all things wherein I have visited her: but they rose early and corrupted all their thoughts.

But their children provoked me, they walked not in my commandments nor observed my judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall live in them: and they violated my sabbaths. And I threatened to pour out my indignation upon them and to accomplish my wrath in them in the desert.

And they have turned their backs to me, and not their faces, when I taught them early in the morning and instructed them: and they would not hearken to receive instruction.

For I knew that thou art stubborn, and thy neck is as an iron sinew, and thy forehead as brass.

Because they cast off my judgments and walked not in my statutes and violated my sabbaths: for their heart went after idols.

But the house of Israel provoked me in the desert: they walked not in my statutes and they cast away my judgments, which if a man do he shall live in them, and they grievously violated my sabbaths. I said therefore that I would pour out my indignation upon them in the desert and would consume them.

And I have sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising early, and sending and saying: Return ye every man from his wicked way and make your ways good, and follow not strange gods nor worship them: and you shall dwell in the land: which I gave you and your fathers. And you have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened to me.

And thou shalt say to them: This is a nation which hath not hearkened to the voice of the Lord their God nor received instruction. Faith is lost and is taken away out of their mouth.

Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from thee, lest I make thee desolate, a land uninhabited.

Receive my instruction, and not money: choose knowledge rather than gold.

Why have I hated instruction, and my heart consented not to reproof,

A wise man shall hear and shall be wiser: and he that understandeth, shall possess governments.

To understand the words of prudence: and to receive the instruction of doctrine, justice, and judgment, and equity:

O Lord, thou wilt open my lips: and my mouth shall declare thy praise.

And I said: I am the Lord your God. Fear not the gods of the Amorrhites, in whose land you dwell. And you would not hear my voice.

O Lord, thy eyes are upon truth: thou hast struck them, and they have not grieved: thou hast bruised them, and they have refused to receive correction. They have made their faces harder than the rock and they have refused to return.
