The works of God are perfect, and all his ways are judgments: God is faithful and without any iniquity; he is just and right.


For thus saith the High and the Eminent that inhabiteth eternity. And his name is Holy, who dwelleth in the high and holy place and with a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the contrite.


And I meditated in the night with my own heart: and I was exercised and I swept my spirit.


Who can stand before the face of his indignation? and who shall resist in the fierceness of his anger? his indignation is poured out like fire: and the rocks are melted by him.


For thou art God my strength: why hast thou cast me off? and why do I go sorrowful whilst the enemy afflicteth me?


The man that in private detracted his neighbour, him did I persecute. With him that had a proud eye, and an unsatiable heart, I would not eat.


And I saw a great white throne, and one sitting upon it, from whose face the earth and heaven fled away, and there was no place found for them.


I have acknowledged my sin to thee, and my injustice I have not concealed. I said I will confess against myself my injustice to the Lord: and thou hast forgiven the wickedness of my sin.


His going out is from the end of heaven, And his circuit even to the end thereof: and there is no one that can hide himself from his heat.


And we know that the Son of God is come: and he hath given us understanding that we may know the true God, and may be in his true Son. This is the true God and life eternal.


It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.


Now to the king of ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.


For they themselves relate of us, what manner of entering in we had unto you; and how you turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God.


Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.


And who shall be able to think of the day of his coming? and who shall stand to see him? for he is like a refining fire, and like the fuller's herb:


He stood and measured the earth. He beheld, and melted the nations: and the ancient mountains were crushed to pieces. The hills of the world were bowed down by the journeys of his eternity.


And the mountains shall be melted under him: and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, and as waters that run down a steep place.


The Lord lifteth up the meek, and bringeth the wicked down even to the ground.


Turn, O my soul, into thy rest: for the Lord hath been bountiful to thee.


He gave them hail for rain, a burning fire in the land.


Sing joyfully to God, all the earth; make melody, rejoice and sing.


Lift up thyself, thou that judgest the earth: render a reward to the proud.


For he hath given his angels charge over thee; to keep thee in all thy ways.


Lord, thou hast blessed thy land: thou hast turned away the captivity of Jacob.


And they tempted God in their hearts, by asking meat for their desires.


Who shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.


And many days shall pass in Israel, without the true God, and without a priest a teacher, and without the law.


And when all the people saw this, they fell on their faces. And they said: The Lord he is God; the Lord he is God.


For I thy servant have killed both a lion and a bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be also as one of them. I will go now, and take away the reproach of the people. For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, who hath dared to curse the army of the living God?


And David spoke to the men that stood by him, saying: What shall be given to the man that shall kill this Philistine, and shall take away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?


O Lord, when thou wentest out of Seir, and passedst by the regions of Edom: the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped water.


What is all flesh, that it should hear the voice of the living God, who speaketh out of the midst of the fire, as we have heard, and be able to live?


Charge the rich of this world not to be highminded, nor to trust in the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, (who giveth us abundantly all things to enjoy,)


Now this is eternal life: That they may know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.


But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest said to him: I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us if thou be the Christ the Son of God.


Simon Peter answered and said: Thou art Christ, the Son of the living God.


The mountains saw thee, and were grieved: the great body of waters passed away. The deep put forth its voice: the deep lifted up its hands.

It may be the Lord thy God will hear the words of Rabsaces, whom the king of the Assyrians his master hath sent to blaspheme the living God and to reproach with words which the Lord thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that is left.


And I covered my soul in fasting: and it was made a reproach to me.


And Abimelech, and Phicol, the general of his army, arose and returned to the land of the Palestines. But Abraham planted a grove in Bersabee, and there called upon the name of the Lord God eternal.


That all the people of the earth may know, that the Lord he is God, and there is no other besides him.


What profit is there in my blood, whilst I go down to corruption? Shall dust confess to thee, or declare thy truth?


Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.


He shall say to the Lord: Thou art my protector, and my refuge: my God, in him will I trust.


Behold, the Gentiles are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the smallest grain of a balance: behold, the islands are as a little dust.


In which he that is blessed upon the earth shall be blessed in God, Amen; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by God, Amen: because the former distresses are forgotten and because they are hid from my eyes.


And thou shalt swear: As the Lord liveth in truth and in judgement and in justice: and the Gentiles shall bless him and shall praise him.


I looked upon the mountains, and, behold, they trembled: and all the hills were troubled.


At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved and the cry is heard amongst the nations.


And the land shall be in a commotion and shall be troubled: for the design of the Lord against Babylon shall awake, to make the land of Babylon desert and uninhabitable.


And again he said: By this you shall know that the Lord the living God is in the midst of you, and that he shall destroy before your sight the Chanaanite and the Hethite, the Hevite and the Pherezite, the Gergesite also and the Jebusite, and the Amorrhite.


Thine, O Lord, is magnificence, and power, and glory, and victory: and to thee is praise. For all that is in heaven, and in earth, is thine. Thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art above all princes.


but the Lord remaineth for ever. He hath prepared his throne in judgment:


Will God then cast off for ever? or will he never be more favourable again?


I did not set before my eyes any unjust thing: I hated the workers of iniquities.


Knowest thou not, or hast thou not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, who hath created the ends of the earth. He shall not faint nor labour, neither is there any searching out of his wisdom.


The mountains tremble at him, and the hills are made desolate: and the earth hath quaked at his presence, and the world, and all that dwell therein.
