And Zebee and Salmana said: Do thou rise, and run upon us: because the strength of a man is according to his age: Gedeon rose up and slew Zebee and Salmana: and he took the ornaments and bosses with which the necks of the camels of kings are wont to be adorned.


And the weight of the earlets that he requested was a thousand seven hundred sicles of gold, besides the ornaments, and jewels, and purple raiment which the kings of Madian were wont to use, and besides the golden chains that were about the camels' necks.


Whose adorning let it not be the outward plaiting of the hair, or the wearing of gold, or the putting on of apparel:


The Lord will make bald the crown of the head of the daughters of Sion: and the Lord will discover their hair.


And chains, and necklaces, and bracelets, and bonnets:


And they shall strip thee of thy garments and take away the instruments of thy glory.


They sent for men coming from afar, to whom they had sent a messenger: and, behold, they came: for whom thou didst wash thyself and didst paint thy eyes and wast adorned with women's ornaments.
