For it is evident that our Lord sprung out of Juda: in which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priests.


And let peoples serve thee, and tribes worship thee. Be thou lord of thy brethren, and let thy mother's children bow down before thee. Cursed be he that curseth thee: and let him that blesseth thee be filled with blessings.


But of the race of Juda, who was the strongest among his brethren, came the princes: but the first birthright was accounted to Joseph.)


And when they were brought out to him, he called all the men of Israel, and said to the chiefs of the army that were with him: Go, and set your feet on the necks of these kings. And when they had gone, and put their feet upon the necks of them lying under them,


This is the blessing of Juda. Hear, O Lord, the voice of Juda, and bring him in unto his people. His hands shall fight for him, and he shall be his helper against his enemies.


The fourth time she conceived and bore a son, and said: Now will I praise the Lord. And for this she called him Juda. And she left bearing.


And the seventh angel sounded the trumpet: and there were great voices in heaven, saying: The kingdom of this world is become our Lord's and his Christ's, and he shall reign for ever and ever. Amen.

My enemies thou hast made to turn their back to me: them that hated me, and I shall destroy them.


The ancients also of Israel came to the king to Hebron, and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the Lord. And they anointed David to be king over Israel.


And they arose and came to the house of God, that is, to Silo. And they consulted God, and said: Who shall be in our army the first to go to the battle against the children of Benjamin? And the Lord answered them: Let Juda be your leader.


These are the families of Juda, of which the whole number was seventy-six thousand five hundred.


The sons of Juda by their troops: whose prince was Nahasson the son of Aminadab.


Were reckoned up seventy-four thousand six hundred.


The sons of Juda: Her and Onan and Sela and Phares and Zara. And Her and Onan died in the land of Chanaan. And sons were born to Phares: Hesron and Hamul.


And Joseph was governor in the land of Egypt, and corn was sold by his direction to the people. And when his brethren had bowed down to him,


And the sons of Juda by their kindreds were: Sela, of whom is the family of the Selaites: Phares, of whom is the family of the Pharesites: Zare, of whom is the family of the Zarites.


But the Lord God of Israel chose me of all the house of my father, to be king over Israel for ever. For of Juda he chose the princes: and of the house of Juda, my father's house: and among the sons of my father, it pleased him to choose me king over all Israel.


This is the possession of the tribe of the children of Juda by their kindreds.
