And I said: Not so, Lord; for nothing common or unclean hath ever entered into my mouth.


But Peter said: Far be it from me; for I never did eat any thing that is common and unclean.


The wise answered, saying: Lest perhaps there be not enough for us and for you, go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.


It shall not be so: but go ye men only, and sacrifice to the Lord; for this yourselves also desired. And immediately they were cast out from Pharao's presence.


Ruben, my firstborn, thou art my strength, and the beginning of my sorrow: excelling in gifts, greater in command.


They sat before him, the firstborn according to his birthright, and the youngest according to his age. And they wondered very much:


Laban answered: It is not the custom in this plac, to give the younger in marriage first.


And she put on him very good garments of Esau, which she had at home with her.

And Joseph, seeing that his father had put his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, was much displeased: and taking his father's hand he tried to lift it from Ephraim's head, and to remove it to the head of Manasses.


But he refusing, said: I know, my son, I know. And this also shall become peoples, and shall be multiplied: but this younger brother shall be greater than he: and his seed shall grow into nations.
