He came near, and kissed him. And immediately as he smelled the fragrant smell of his garments, blessing him, he said: Behold, the smell of my son is as the smell of a plentiful field, which Lord hath blessed.


Now Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, and he could not see: and he called Esau, his elder son, and said to him: My son? And he answered: Here I am.


BEHOLD, the hand of the Lord is not shortened that it cannot save: neither is his ear heavy that it cannot hear.


Blind the heart of this people, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes: lest they see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and be converted, and I heal them.


And he forthwith left the oxen and ran after Elias, and said: Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said to him: Go, and return back; for that which was my part, I have done to thee.


Now Heli was ninety and eight years old; and his eyes were dim, and he could not see.


And it came to pass one day when Heli lay in his place, and his eyes were grown dim, that he could not see:


And Joseph kissed all his brethren, and wept upon every one of them: after which they were emboldened to speak to him.


But Laban arose in the night, and kissed his sons, and daughters, and blessed them: and returned to his place.


Then seeing his sons, he said to him: Who are these?


And said to his son: I am not deprived of seeing thee. Moreover God hath shewed me thy seed.


Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, neither were his teeth moved.


When the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall stagger, and the grinders shall be idle in a small number, and they that look through the holes shall be darkened:
