And he made haste because his heart was moved upon his brother, and tears gushed out. And going into his chamber he wept.


For we have not a high priest, who can not have compassion on our infirmities: but one tempted in all things like as we are, without sin.


And if one member suffer any thing, all the members suffer with it; or if one member glory, all the members rejoice with it.


Rejoice with them that rejoice; weep with them that weep.


And when he drew near, seeing the city, he wept over it, saying:


In all their affliction he was not troubled: and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love, and in his mercy he redeemed them: and he carried them and lifted them up all the days of old.


But he answered: Peace be with you, fear not: your God, and the God of your father hath given you treasure in your sacks. For the money, which you gave me, I have for good. And he brought Simeon out to them.


And may my almighty God make him favourable to you; and send back with you your brother, whom he keepeth, and this Benjamin. And as for me I shall be desolate without children.


And, behold, the third day, when the pain of the wound was greatest, two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, the brothers of Dina, taking their swords, entered boldly into the city, and slew all the men:


And they knew not that Joseph understood; because he spoke to them by an interpreter.


Joseph could no longer refrain himself before many that stood by: whereupon he commanded that all should go out, and no stranger be present at their knowing one another.


And he lifted up his voice with weeping, which the Egyptians and all the house of Pharao heard.
