The wrath of a king is as messengers of death: and the wise man will pacify it.


And he was angry with the Tyrians and the Sidonians. But they with one accord came to him, and having gained Blastus, who was the king's chamberlain, they desired peace, because their countries were nourished by him.


Anger hath no mercy, nor fury when it breaketh forth: and who can bear the violence of one provoked?


He that is impatient, shall suffer damage: and when he shall take away he shall add another thing.


As the roaring of a lion, so also is the anger of a king: and his cheerfulness as the dew upon the grass.


Or will God forget to shew mercy? or will he in his anger shut up his mercies?


And over the dressers of the vineyards was Semeias, a Romathite. And over the wine cellars, Zabdias, an Aphonite.


After this, it came to pass, that two eunuchs, the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, offended their lord.


And he restored the one to his place to present him the cup:


But the chief butler, when things prospered with him, forgot his interpreter.


The king, being angry with his servants, commanded me and the chief baker to be cast into the prison of the captain of the soldiers;
