But he acknowledging the gifts, said: She is juster than I; because I did not give her to Sela; my son. However, he knew her no more.


Lift up thy eyes on high, and see where thou hast not prostuted thyself. Thou didst sit in the ways, waiting for them as a robber in the wilderness: and thou hast polluted the land with thy fornications and with thy wickedness.


Now abroad, now in the streets, now lying in wait near the corners.


And said to the servant: Who is that man who cometh towards us along the field? And he said to her: That man is my master. But she quickly took Her cloak, and covered herself.


At every head of the way thou hast set up a sign of thy prostitution, and hast made thy beauty to be abominable, and hast prostituted thyself to every one that passed by, and hast multiplied thy fornications.


When Juda saw her, he thought she was a harlot: for she had covered her face, lest she should be known.


And behold a woman meeteth him in harlot's attire prepared to deceive souls; talkative and wandering,


And she arose and went her way: and putting off the apparel which she had taken, put on the garments of her widowhood.
