And the four and twenty ancients, who sit on their seats in the sight of God, fell on their faces and adored God, saying:


Abraham your father rejoiced that he might see my day: he saw it, and was glad.


And Sara said: God hath made a laughter for me. Whosoever shall hear of it will laugh with me.


And she laughed secretly, saying: After I am grown old, and my lord is an old man, shall I give myself to pleasure?


As the appearance of the rainbow when it is in a cloud on a rainy day: this was the appearance of the brightness round about.


And when he had opened the book, the four living creatures, and the four and twenty ancients fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints:


Then Job rose up, and rent his garments: and having shaven his head fell down upon the ground and worshipped,


And David, lifting up his eyes, saw the angel of the Lord standing between heaven and earth, with a drawn sword in his hand, turned against Jerusalem. And both he and the ancients clothed in haircloth fell down flat on the ground.

Now they were both old, and far advanced in years, and it had ceased to be with Sara after the manner of women.


When he was a hundred years old: for at this age of his father was Isaac born.


And again she said: Who would believe that Abraham should hear that Sara gave suck to a son, whom she bore to him in his old age?
