And then the Lord God will take away before your eyes nations that are great and very strong: and no man shall be able to resist you.


And the Lord said to Josue: Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thy hands. None of them shall be able to stand against thee.


None shall stand against you. The Lord your God shall lay the dread and fear of you upon all the land that you shall tread upon, as he hath spoken to you.


And all their kings, and their lands he took and wasted at one onset: for the Lord the God of Israel fought for him.


No man shall be able to resist you all the days of thy life. As I have been with Moses, so will I be with thee: I will not leave thee, nor forsake thee.


Let me alone that I may destroy them, and abolish their name from under heaven, and set thee over a nation, that is greater and stronger than this.


But in all these things we overcome, because of him that hath loved us.


But thanks be to God, who hath given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.


And I will stretch out my hand upon Juda, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and I will destroy out of this place the remnant of Baal, and the names of the wardens of the temples with the priests:


Thus then shall you say to them: The gods that have not made heaven and earth, let them perish from the earth and from among those places that are under heaven.


No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper: and every tongue that resisteth thee in judgment, thou shalt condemn. This is the inheritance of the servants of the Lord and their justice with me, saith the Lord.


The memory of the just is with praises: and the name of the wicked shall rot.


For thou hast maintained my judgment and my cause: thou hast sat on the throne, who judgest justice.


And the Lord should not forgive him: but his wrath and jealousy against that man should be exceedingly enkindled at that time. And all the curses that are written in this volume should light upon him: and the Lord should blot out his name from under heaven,


Therefore when the Lord thy God shall give thee rest, and shall have subdued all the nations round about in the land which he hath promised thee: thou shalt blot out his name from under heaven. See thou forget it not.


And the Lord said to Moses: Write this for a memorial in a book, and deliver it to the ears of Josue; for I will destroy the memory of Amalec from under heaven.


Thou shalt know therefore this day that the Lord thy God himself will pass over before thee, a devouring and consuming fire, to destroy and extirpate and bring them to nothing before thy face quickly, as he hath spoken to thee.


And the Lord said to Josue: Behold, I have given into thy hands Jericho, and the king thereof, and all the valiant men.


And the ministers did as they were commanded. And they brought out to him the five kings out of the cave: the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jerimoth, the king of Lachis, the king of Eglon.


So Josue conquered all the country of the hills and of the south and of the plain, and of Asedoth, with their kings. He left not any remains therein, but slew all that breathed, as the Lord the God of Israel had commanded him,


And part of the mountain that goeth up to Seir as far as Baalgad, by the plain of Libanus under mount Hermon. All their kings he took, smote and slew.


The king of Thersa one: all the kings thirty and one.


And you see all that the Lord your God hath done to all the nations round about: how he himself hath fought for you.
