Deuteronomy 4:38 - Douay-Rheims version of The Bible - 1752 version
38 To destroy at thy coming very great nations, and stronger than thou art: and to bring thee in: and give thee their land for a possession, as thou seest at this present day.
38 to drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou art, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as it is this day.

And again he said: By this you shall know that the Lord the living God is in the midst of you, and that he shall destroy before your sight the Chanaanite and the Hethite, the Hevite and the Pherezite, the Gergesite also and the Jebusite, and the Amorrhite.
But remember the Lord thy God, that he hath given thee strength, that he might fulfil his covenant, concerning which he swore to thy fathers, as this present day sheweth.
