I will pass over therefore, and will see this excellent land beyond the Jordan, and this goodly mountain, and Libanus.


Go up to the top of Phasga, and cast thy eyes round about to the west, and to the north, and to the south, and to the east, and behold it. For thou shalt not pass this Jordan.


You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore will I visit upon you all your iniquities.


And when thou shalt have seen it, thou also shalt go to thy people, as thy brother Aaron is gone.


Because you offended me in the desert of Sin in the contradiction of the multitude: neither would you sanctify me before them at the waters. These are the waters of contradiction in Cades of the desert of Sin.


And the Lord said to Moses: Behold the days of thy death are nigh: call Josue, and stand ye in the tabernacle of the testimony, that I may give him a charge. So Moses and Josue went and stood in the tabernacle of the testimony:


Revenge first the children of Israel on the Madianites: and so thou shalt be gathered to thy people.


Neither is his indignation against the people to be wondered at, since the Lord was angry with me also on your account, and said: Neither shalt thou go in thither.
