For they are thy people, and thy inheritance, whom thou hast brought out of the land of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron:


Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying: Hear ye my voice and do all things that I command you: and you shall be my people, and I will be your God:


But the Lord's portion is his people: Jacob the lot of his inheritance.


Who are thy people and thy inheritance, whom thou hast brought out by thy great strength, and in thy stretched-out arm.


But you are a chosen generation, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a purchased people: that you may declare his virtues, who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:


Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and might cleanse to himself a people acceptable, a pursuer of good works.


Who alone doth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever.


Come, children, hearken to me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.


The voice of the Lord prepareth the stags: and he will discover the thick woods: and in his temple all shall speak his glory.


And praying, I said: O Lord God, destroy not thy people, and thy inheritance, which thou hast redeemed in thy greatness, whom thou hast brought out of Egypt with a strong hand.


The eyes of your heart enlightened, that you may know what the hope is of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.


In whom we also are called by lot, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things according to the counsel of his will.


And the Egyptians hated the children of Israel: and afflicted them and mocked them


And I will take you to myself for my people. I will be your God: and you shall know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from the work prison of the Egyptians.


Said: If I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord, I beseech thee, that thou wilt go with us, (for it is a stiffnecked people,) and take away our iniquities and sin, and possess us.


Because thou art a holy people to the Lord thy God. The Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be his peculiar people of all peoples that are upon the earth.


Because thou art a holy people to the Lord thy God: and he chose thee to be his peculiar people of all nations that are upon the earth.


And the Lord hath chosen thee this day, to be his peculiar people, as he hath spoken to thee, and to keep all his commandments:


The burden of the beasts of the south. In a land of trouble and distress, from whence come the lioness and the lion, the viper and the flying basilisk, they carry their riches upon the shoulders of beasts and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not be able to profit them.


Behold, I have refined thee, but not as silver: I have chosen thee in the furnace of poverty.


And they made their life bitter with hard works in clay, and brick, and with all manner of service, wherewith they were overcharged in the works of the earth.
