Thou shalt know therefore this day that the Lord thy God himself will pass over before thee, a devouring and consuming fire, to destroy and extirpate and bring them to nothing before thy face quickly, as he hath spoken to thee.


In that day the Lord magnified Josue in the sight of all Israel, that they should fear him, as they had feared Moses, while he lived.


Moses my servant is dead. Arise, and pass over this Jordan, thou and thy people with thee, into the land which I will give to the children of Israel.


And the Lord commanded Josue the son of Nun, and said: Take courage, and be valiant: for thou shalt bring the children of Israel into the land which I have promised, and I will be with thee.


Command Josue, and encourage and strengthen him. For he shall go before this people: and shall divide unto them the land which thou shalt see.


For if Jesus had given them rest, he would never have afterwards spoken of another day.


Which also our fathers receiving, brought in with Jesus, into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David.


And the Lord said to Josue: This day will I begin to exalt thee before Israel: that they may know that as I was with Moses, so I am with thee also.


And Josue the son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, because Moses had laid his hands upon him. And the children of Israel obeyed him, and did as the Lord commanded Moses.


And the Lord said to Moses: Behold the days of thy death are nigh: call Josue, and stand ye in the tabernacle of the testimony, that I may give him a charge. So Moses and Josue went and stood in the tabernacle of the testimony:


And he said to Joseph his son: Behold, I die, and God will be with you, and will bring you back into the land of your fathers.


And the Lord shall do to them as he did to Sehon and Og the kings of the Amorrhites, and to their land: and shall destroy them.


The Lord God, who is your leader, himself will fight for you, as he did in Egypt in the sight of all.


When the Lord thy God shall have brought thee into the land, which thou art going in to possess, and shall have destroyed many nations before thee: the Hethite, and the Gergezite, and the Amorrhite, and the Chanaanite, and the Pherezite, and the Hevite, and the Jebusite: seven nations much more numerous than thou art, and stronger than thou:


As the Lord had commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Josue, and he accomplished all. He left not one thing undone of all the commandments which the Lord had commanded Moses.
