Amos 5:7
23 পৰস্পৰ সংযোগসমূহ

For behold the Lord hath commanded, and he will strike the greater house with breaches, and the lesser house with clefts.

And them that turn away from following after the Lord, and that have not sought the Lord, nor searched after him.

You speak words of an unprofitable vision, and you shall make a covenant: and judgment shall spring up as bitterness in the furrows of the field.

Moreover, if the just man shall turn away from his justice and shall commit iniquity: I will lay a stumbling-block before him. He shall die, because thou hast not given him warning. He shall die in his sin and his justices which he hath done shall not be remembered. But I will require his blood at thy hand.

Lest perhaps there should be among you a man or a woman, a family or a tribe, whose heart is turned away this day from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of those nations: and there should be among you a root bringing forth gall and bitterness.

For when the just shall depart from his justice, and commit iniquities, he shall die in them.

But if the just man turn himself away from his justice and do iniquity according to all the abominations which the wicked man useth to work, shall he live? All his justices which he hath done shall not be remembered: in the prevarication by which he hath prevaricated and in his sin which he hath committed, in them he shall die.

WOE to them that make wicked laws: and, when they write, write injustice:

For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel: and the man of Juda, his pleasant plant. And I looked that he should do judgment, and, behold, iniquity: and do justice, and behold a cry.

Thy princes are faithless, companions of thieves: they all love bribes, the run after rewards. They judge not for the fatherless: and the widow's cometh not in to them.

Trust in the Lord, and do good, and dwell in the land, and thou shalt be fed with its riches.

The robberies of the wicked shall be their downfall, because they would not do judgment.

Woe to you that call evil good, and good evil: that put darkness for light, and light for darkness: that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.

And I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all his princes with him, saith the Lord.

And they have not known to do the right thing, saith the Lord, storing up iniquity, and robberies in their houses.

I have brought my justice near: it shall not be afar off, and my salvation shall not tarry. I will give salvation in Sion and my glory in Israel.

Hear this, ye princes of the house of Jacob, and ye judges of the house of Israel: you that abhor judgment, and pervert all that is right.

Therefore the law is torn in pieces, and judgment cometh not to the end: because the wicked prevaileth against the just, therefore wrong judgment goeth forth.
