And Hazael said: But what am I thy servant a dog, that I should do this great thing? And Eliseus said: The Lord hath shewn me that thou shalt be king of Syria.


Woe to you that devise that which is unprofitable, and work evil in your beds: in the morning light they execute it, because their hand is against God.


WOE to thee that spoilest! Shalt not thou thyself also be spoiled? And thou that despisest, shalt not thyself also be despised? When thou shalt have made an end of spoiling, thou shalt be spoiled: when being wearied thou shalt cease to despise, thou shalt be despised.


Delight in the Lord, and he will give thee the requests of thy heart.


Now Osee son of Ela conspired, and formed a plot against Phacee, the son of Romelia; and struck him; and slew him; and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Joatham the son of Ozias.


And Phacee the son of Romelia, his captain, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the tower of the king's house, near Argob, and near Arie: and with him fifty men of the sons of the Galaadites. And he slew him and reigned in his stead.

So Baasa slew him in the third year of Asa king of Juda; and reigned in his place.


The Lord judge between me and thee; and the Lord revenge me of thee: but my hand shall not be upon thee.


And Eliseus said to him: Go tell him: Thou shalt recover. But the Lord hath shewn me that he shall surely die.


He went also with Joram son of Achab, to fight against Hazael king of Syria in Ramoth Galaad, and the Syrians wounded Joram.
