And when he had possession of the kingdom, he put his servants to death that had slain the king his father.


But the rest of the multitude of the people slew them that had killed Amon: and made Josias his son king in his stead.


And all the people of Juda took his son Ozias, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of Amasias his father.


And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ochozias his youngest son king in his place: for the rovers of the Arabians, who had broke in upon the camp, had killed all that were his elder brothers. So Ochozias the son of Joram king of Juda reigned.


And all the people of Juda took Azarias, who was sixteen years old, and made him king instead of his father Amasias.


And Joiada made a covenant between the Lord, and the king, and the people, that they should be the people of the Lord, and between the king and the people.


And it came to pass when all Israel heard that Jeroboam was come again, that they gathered an assembly, and sent and called him, and made him king over all Israel. And there was none that followed the house of David but the tribe of Juda only.


And Roboam went to Sichem: for thither were all Israel come together to make him king.


The ancients also of Israel came to the king to Hebron, and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the Lord. And they anointed David to be king over Israel.


And all the people went to Galgal. And there they made Saul king before the Lord in Galgal; and they sacrificed there victims of peace before the Lord. And there Saul and all the men of Israel rejoiced exceedingly


But the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Juda?


The word of the Lord which came to him in the days of Josias the son of Amon king of Juda, in the thirteenth year of his reign.


Josias was eight years old when he began to reign: he reigned one and thirty years in Jerusalem. The name of his mother was Idida, the daughter of Hadaia of Besecath.
