The secrets of his heart are made manifest; and so, falling down on his face, he will adore God, affirming that God is among you indeed.


For of a truth there assembled together in this city against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel,


And after the space, as it were of one hour, another certain man affirmed, saying: Of a truth, this man was also with him; for he is also a Galilean.


But know ye and understand, that if you put me to death, you will shed innocent blood against your own selves and against this city and the inhabitants thereof. For in truth the Lord sent me to you, to speak all these words in your hearing.


These things are in my ears, saith the Lord of hosts: unless many great and fair houses shall become desolate, without an inhabitant.


Indeed I know it is so, and that man cannot be justified compared with God


And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Phul king of the Assyrians, and the spirit of Thelgathphalnasar king of Assur. And he carried away Ruben, and Gad, and the half tribe of Manasses, and brought them to Lahela, and to Habor, and to Ara, and to the river of Gozan, unto this day.


And the king of the Assyrians brought people from Babylon, and from Cutha, and from Avah, and from Emath, and from Sepharvaim: and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel. And they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.


And in the ninth year of Osee, the king of the Assyrians took Samaria, and carried Israel away to Assyria. And he placed them in Hala and Habor by the river of Gozan, in the cities of the Medes.


And he agreed to his desire: for the king of the Assyrians went up against Damascus, and laid it waste. And he carried away the inhabitants thereof to Cyrene, but Rasin he slew.


And they that were in the boat came and adored him, saying: Indeed thou art the Son of God.


Incline thy ear, and hear: open, O Lord, thy eyes, and see: and hear all the words of Sennacherib, who hath sent to upbraid unto us the living God.


And they have cast their gods into the fire. For they were not gods, but the works of men's hands of wood and stone: and they destroyed them.


And as he was worshipping in the temple of Nesroch his god, Adramelech and Sarasar his sons slew him with the sword. And they fled into the land of the Armenians: and Asarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.


And I will destroy all the house of Achab, and I will cut off from Achab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up, and the meanest in Israel.
