15 And Samuel said to Saul: Why hast thou disturbed my rest, that I should be brought up? And Saul said: I am in great distress; for the Philistines fight against me; and God is departed from me; and would not hear me, neither by the hand of prophets, nor by dreams. Therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest shew me what I shall do.

For the Philistines fight against me, and God has withdrawn from me, and he is not willing to heed me, neither by the hand of prophets, nor by dreams. Therefore, I have summoned you, so that you would reveal to me what I should do."

And he consulted the Lord, and he answered him not; neither by dreams, nor by priests, nor by prophets.


And Saul feared David, because the Lord was with him, and was departed from himself.


And though they should bring up their children, I will make them without children among men: yea, and woe to them, when I shall depart from them.


A fool shall be filled with his own ways, and the good man shall be above him.


Then he shall say to them also that shall be on his left hand: Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels.


I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name, for it is good in the sight of thy saints.


And the woman said to him: Whom shall I bring up to thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel.


Then he disguised himself and put on other clothes. And he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night. And he said to her: Divine to me by thy divining spirit, and bring me up him whom I shall tell thee.


Therefore David consulted the Lord, saying: Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And the Lord said to David: Go. And thou shalt smite the Philistines, and shalt save Ceila.


And she said: The Philistines are upon thee, Samson. And awaking from sleep, he said in his mind: I will go out as I did before, and shake myself; not knowing that the Lord was departed from him.


Therefore David consulted the Lord again. And he answered and said to him: Arise, and go to Ceila: for I will deliver the Philistines into thy hand.


And Samuel said: Why askest thou me, seeing the Lord has departed from thee, and is gone over to thy rival?


And David was greatly afflicted. For the people had a mind to stone him, for the soul of every man was bitterly grieved for his sons, and daughters. But David took courage in the Lord his God.
